It’s not like they’re not already charging enough already. Think call display (it keeps going up practically yearly), evening calling, etc and you’ve already made them rich enough. The extra $6.95 to $8.95 (can’t believe Bell can be bett(er) with the extra $2 profit per month) is the icing on the cake that they’ve been enjoying for decades.

I am very hopeful that there will be better competition and plans when Globalive and others come out and Telus and Bell changes to GSM. I’m sick of being gouged.

Of course you do realize they will simply raise rates elsewhere? Carriers are loath to give up revenues.

Perfect! the extra 7 dollars a month charge is really a joke.
Especially for people on low monthly plans, where the 7 dollars is pretty much 25 % of their cell phone bill.

This will save my family 7 * 3 = 21 dollars a month.
