For a long time, I’ve been a huge fan of Poll Daddy because it’s user-friendly yet effective way to do polls and surveys.
And given I’m also a WordPress disciple, it’s exciting to see Automattic purchase Poll Daddy, which much to my surprise is only a two-man shop.
Given all the hand-wringing these days about business models and generating revenue, it is also refreshing to see that Poll Daddy offers free and premium services.

- BuddyPress, which is an initial move into the social networking.
- Intense Debate, which offers blog comment services
- Gravatar, which lets you add an avatar image.
With $29-million of financing, Automattic has more than enough muscle to make other strategic acquisitions at far lower prices than even a month ago.
