Having Twubble Finding Twitter Followers? Try This.

Picture 1-68
As much as I really like Twitter’s lean and mean look, there’s a few features that I’d love to see it incorporate.

At the top of my list was a way to find new, interesting people to follow as opposed to following the people who follow you, or following the people whose blogs you already read. It’s like going to a party, and just talking to people you already know. Not that there’s anything wrong with it but variety is the spice of life, and meeting new people is what keeps life interesting.

So, I was pleasantly surprised to discover Twubble – a service that goes through the people you follow on Twitter, and then goes through the people they follow (still following me?) to provide a list of new people that you may be interested in following. (Hat tip to Download Squad for spotting it.)

Whew, that was a lot of following and follows in a short period of time!

Anyway, cool service from a guy named Bob Lee (aka crazybob), who’s one of the lead engineers working on Google’s mobile phone platform Android. Now, if someone could figure out how to make money from Twitter and the growing number of Twitter-related services, that would be very cool and innovative.

More: Someone who tried Twubble reports that if you have too many followers, Twubble may give you an error message. Clearly, there’s still some trouble with Twubble. (Can’t believe I just said that!) For more ways to find friends on Twitter, check out this ReadWriteWeb post.

I simply can’t imagine a scenario where I’d have enough time in my day to subsribe to one twitter feed, much less actively seek out new people to follow.

And if by some miracle I did have that kind of time open up, I think I’d probably use it to read a book. I seem to recall enjoying them.
