It is a tax (and the thin edge of a very large wedge, unfortunately) but at least it would create some awareness at the point of purchase of the real costs (the lifetime costs) of owning stuff, stuff and more stuff. I am as much of a gadget fiend as the next person, but it is troubling how disposable all this stuff has become. Another thought-provoking post, Mark.
