I've heard alot of rumors surrounding the Iphone and its hopeful arrival in Canada, but unless Rogers can release the phone on a data plan thats affordable I dont really think its going to see the same kind of sucess it has in other markets.

David - please work on your counting as you overstated the population by 21% - Canada only has 33 million people. Start counting again - I suggest starting in Newfoundland as the day starts earlier there so you will have a 29.5 hour day.

Does anyone really think that Apple cares about a market of around 40 million people? Seriously, if he got 1% of all Canadians to buy an iPhone, he'd have 400,000 subscribers. That isn't even one third as many people as they got in the first few weeks in the USA.

I doubt he will make a big announcement at MacWorld about bringing the phone to Canada. People in the US will yawn.

I still think it won't be until 2009 that we see the iPhone up for grabs from Rogers. Unless you have details from inside Rogers that include an agreement with Apple (finally).

My Rogers insider said he received "confirmation" that Rogers is getting the iPhone in March. Many people have received "confirmation" in the passed so who knows if it's true. Apparently Ted Rogers wanted to wait for the 3G version.
