Good to hear you're joining the blogosphere! Not sure my resolutions can be followed to a tee given I'm clearly a bit conflicted but if they provide some inspiration, that's only a good thing. :)

Love it, Mark. I have just been added as another voice to my company's blog (have not published anything yet...) and so I read this post with great interest. I am going to pin it to my cube, as words from the (very) wise.

I'm not entirely sure how Techmeme works but there's a group of bloggers who have been identified as being part of the ecosystem. Within the ecosystem, there seem to be several tiers, so TechCrunch, for example, would be a member of the super group. My sense is groups are created manually and through an algorithm. The way to get into the Techmeme ecosystem is getting links by bloggers within these groups. Scoble did a video a month or so ago that does a pretty good stab at explaining how Techmeme works.

Hey Mark,

Obviously, you've made some blatant contradictions, but one in particular interests me. If you plan on earning "a promotion within the Techmeme ecosystem", then you're going to have to keep "jumping on the blogging bandwagon every time news breaks". I find that that is the only way to gain entry within the lucrative ecosystem. Thoughts?

Cheers,
Aidan
