Facebook Update

I’ve 15 Facebook friends, and an invitation to join a group called “My Yoga Instructor is Hot”. Question: Is MySpace relevant any more other than a place for bands to make their music available? Has Mark Zuckerman outmaneuvered Rupert Murdoch? Okay, that was two questions but they gotta be asked!

    Hey Mark

I’m a long time Facebook user and never got into MySpace. I it is just for bands now as It has become a bloated system at best. With Facebook I can see what events my friends are going to, what people in Toronto are going to/doing or trying to sell on marketplace. In short, it’s a lot more relevant to me and my inner social circle and the other group of people I know and sometimes don’t know at large.

P.S. I’ve requested a friendship add.. been reading your blog for a while now and commented here and there, when I felt I had something interesting to add.

I’ve been on both MySpace and Facebook for a few years – the difference is striking. As I’ve said before, Facebook is for your real friends, and MySpace is for your imaginary friends – musicians, celebrities, characters, marketing campaigns, movies, etc. The choice, when presented that way, seems obvious.
