Business Cards Web 2.0?

November 5th, 2006 Posted in Main Page

Amid all this digital technology, does it strike anyone as strange that business cards are still alive and well? I mean, we live in a world of Web sites, blogs and e-mail yet if you appear at an event without a business card, you feel kind of naked. It explains why I didn't feel like a real b5media employee until the new business cards were delivered. That said, I do see a day when blogs could replace business cards but how would you remember anyone's information without a business card.

Isn't that where blogcards come into play? ;) Or wait. Maybe it will just zap over from a Zune-like device, as long as I don't want to look at it more than 3 times in 3 days, that is. ;)

Mark, I posted a response on my blog, but I didn't see a pingback for some reason. I think business cards play an important role and I don't see them being replaced in the future. By that I mean, at least 6 months. :)

Funny you should mention that…. we have been doing some experimenting with green screening and video for web … and we were tinkering with a business card concept. Not sure if you'd consider this web 2.0…. or utterly useless for that matter… but anyway thought it might be relevant (and remotely interesting).
    Cheers
