CallVantage's SOHO VOIP plan
By Mark Evans | February 9, 2005
Looks like AT&T is moving upstream with its CallVantage service by targeting the small-office/home-office market. The new service will sell for $49.95 a month and include unlimited local and LD calling in the U.S. and Canada, as well as the ability to send and receive faxes.
At first glance, this SOHO plan is quite a premium to CallVantage's residential service so it has to include some useful bells and whistles. Not sure what to make of CallVantage's SOHO strategy. It could be a sign that it is having trouble in the residential market against rivals such as Vonage and the cablecos. It could also suggest AT&T doesn't want to places
all its bets on the price-sensitive residential market.
In any event, I'd like to CallVantage's subscriber numbers to get a better handle on how well or badly it is faring.
