There is no doubt Vonage is a savvy marketing machine but its Valentine's Day efforts are an exercise in bad taste. In Canada, Vonage had a poll commissioned by Decima Research to see who people would like to have phone sex with. Women picked Brad Pitt; men selected Angelina Jolie,
Call me a prude, call me traditionalist but is there nothing Vonage won't try to boost its profile? Then again, the phone sex idea is obviously effective because I'm blogging about it. More important, the poll demonstrates Vonage's enthusiastic brand-building program as it drives to build critical mass before the cablecos and carriers become aggressive about VOIP. Vonage is in a race against time, and using all the weapons it can.
